Saskatoon’s History Through the Lives and Experiences of its Greek Community:

The People — Biographies and Obituaries

This section remembers people who are deceased and who at some time in their lives considered themselves to be part of Saskatoon’s Greek community.  People are organized by surname at the time of death – as shown on a gravesite memorial or in an obituary.  Previous names, such as the family names prior to marriage, are noted.

The list includes people who were born or who died in Saskatoon and people who moved to or from Saskatoon.  The list includes spouses of members of the Greek community who are from other cultural backgrounds.  Deceased children are included if they were born in Saskatoon.

Surnames do not denote family relationships; therefore, while people may be listed with the same surname, this does not necessarily indicate a close or any relationship.  Information on relationships is available in the biographies and obituaries.

This is a work in progress.  People will be added to this list as deaths and connections to Saskatoon are confirmed.

There is a degree of arbitrariness in determining who is included in the list.  The intent is to be as inclusive as possible; however, decisions will be based on the person’s demonstrated physical presence in Saskatoon, a formal or informal relationship of the person with the Saskatoon Greek community, and confirmation of the person’s death in Saskatoon or elsewhere.
